Description
This is a fine stretch of river with many classic features. Long sweeping bends and shallow gravel runs. There are plenty of overhanging bushes and trees, which provide cover for the fish.

The stretch offers countless margin features, islands, bars and shelves, and shallow runs. There is easy access to this stretch.

Species
The River Dove is renowned for its Chub and Barbel fishing. Chub to 5lbs are not uncommon and there are confirmed reports of Barbel well in excess of 10lbs. There are Bream and Carp resident in swims upstream of the meadow leading to the weir. The early pegs being favoured for some Grayling fishing.

Bream to 7lb (shoals known to frequent the area between the Old Barn and Weirpool)

Chub to 8lb, averaging 2lb to 5lb
Grayling to 2lb 6oz, averaging 1lb – 2lb
Gudgeon to 2oz
Perch to 2lb
Pike to 19lb
Roach to 1lb 8oz

Location
Take the A50 from Stoke to Sudbury. Take the A515 at the end of the Sudbury bypass. Take the Cotton in the Clay / Tutbury road after 1.6 miles, and then after 2.6 miles turn off road into track at white cottage on left.
