RIVER DOVE

Description
The society has fishing rights for about 1 mile on both banks of this stretch of the river. The river has many twists and bends providing a lot of character and interesting swims to fish from deep water to fast gravel runs. There are numerous overhanging bushes, which provide cover for many of the resident species. In addition there are countless margin features, bars and shelves, islands and shallow runs along this tree lined stretch.

Species
The river favours classic Chub and Barbel fishing. Interest being shown in recent years by the British Barbel Society. Heavy line is a must when fishing near to snags and overhanging trees. Roach, Grayling and Perch catches have also been reported by members

Location
Take the A515 from the end of the Sudbury bypass, after 150 metres take the A516 signed for Scropton. On entering Scropton turn by the railway crossing on the right entering the approach to Riverside Farm. Parking is on the verge.
